Clutch Dynamometer
This machine is a computer operated servo controlled single end inertia
type clutch dynamometer for the development and quality control of passenger car and truck
clutch facings and assemblies. The Greening Model 129 Clutch Dynamometer contains
the sophisticated controls necessary to apply the clutch properly. The control
system is a multi-tasking real time enhanced computer system which utilizes our customized
circuitry and software.
A servo controlled actuator controls the
clutch engagement. As the clutch components develop a small torque, it signals the control
to "ramp up" until the desired level of acceleration torque is achieved. This
torque level is maintained until the clutch accelerates the inertia mass to the drive
motor speed. A separate disc brake assembly slows the rotating components to zero speed.
Latest digital computer technology is
utilized to simplify test setup and dynamometer operation.
System provides for selective display,
printout, and storage of clutch test data and test status information.
Data can be displayed and printed in
numeric and graphic form while the test is in progress without test interruption.
The stored data is available for off-line
analysis via the system's computer or off-line computer.
Automatic signal calibration, simultaneous
acquisition of time and displacement frame data, and digital/adaptive control "outer
loops" are some of the major features.
